John Cena’s Huge Return Among Major Announcements For WWE SmackDown

John Cena

John Cena is ready to return to the blue brand as WWE SmackDown goes international again.

When John Cena appeared on the August 8th edition of WWE SmackDown in Montreal, it was his first time on WWE TV since losing the WWE Title to Cody Rhodes.

It was also an emotional night since the Montreal crowd showed Cena a lot of love, and Cena was nearly in tears due to how loud the fans were as they showed him appreciation for his final time in the city. The Cena retirement tour has produced a lot of memorable moments, but as it winds down, fans realize they need to enjoy it when Cena appears in front of them.

The Cena segment on SmackDown in Montreal was interrupted by Logan Paul, who is hated by the fans. Paul got in Cena’s face, bragging about how good he is, which led to a match challenge for WWE Clash in Paris on August 31st. The match was made official soon after.

Later in the same show, Cena teamed up with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes against Paul and Drew McIntyre. It ended without a decisive winner when Paul hit a low blow on Cena for the disqualification. Paul and Cena went fighting to the backstage area.

John Cena Returning To WWE SmackDown On August 22nd

A video package aired during the WWE SmackDown in Boston broadcast, showing what happened with Cena and Paul last week.

It was also announced that John Cena will be on the August 22nd edition of SmackDown in Dublin, Ireland, in front of what should be a vocal crowd.

In addition to Cena on SmackDown in Dublin, WWE has advertised these two matches:

  • Aleister Black vs. R-Truth
  • Motor City Machine Guns vs. Melo Don’t Miz

John Cena is also advertised for the August 29th edition of SmackDown in Lyon, France, which takes place two days before Clash in Paris.

As for Cena’s Clash in Paris opponent, Logan Paul, he got married to Nina Agdal, with whom he shares a young daughter. Congrats to Logan, his wife Nina and their family.
