Jinder Mahal Reacts To The Rock Segment From WWE Raw
Jinder Mahal has opened up about his recent WWE Raw interaction with The Rock.
‘The Modern Day Maharaja’ made an unpopular appearance on the Day 1 episode of WWE Raw on 1st January 2024, with many fans expecting a bigger name Superstar following a tease by Triple H that a former WWE Champion would be at the show.
Mahal was roundly booed as he made his way to the ring and proceeded to slam the United States before The Rock sent the crowd into a frenzy by making a shocking return.
Ultimately, The Rock would get the better of former WWE United States Champion in a physical confrontation that ended with ‘The Great One’ delivering his signature People’s Elbow.
Despite ending up on the losing end of the impromptu scrap, Mahal had strong praise for himself in a recent chat with WWE Super Dhamaal:
“I had many good points before Rock even came out. I was feeling confident until I was on the receiving end of, you know, Rock gave me a spinebuster.
Up until then, I really believed that I had The Rock. You know, I had his confidence choked. I could see the look in his eyes. You know, I am the Modern Day Maharaja, he may be The People’s Champion, they were cheering him on.
For someone who had no respect from the crowd, I think I did really well.”
‘The Modern Day Maharaja’ would go a step further during the interview, challenging ‘The People’s Champion’ to a future bout in India:
“I want to issue a challenge to The Rock. Anytime in India, you can step into the ring with The Modern Day Maharaja.”
The Rock Set To Ignore Jinder Mahal Challenge In Favour Of Roman Reigns Bout
The Rock has yet to respond to the Mahal’s angry challenge, but it would appear that he is likely to ignore the advances of the former 3MB member in order to focus on a potential bout with Roman Reigns.
For years fans have clamoured for a Rock vs Roman Reigns bout and whilst they could soon receive their wish, WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff believes it may not take place at WrestleMania.
