Jimmy Uso Was Legitimately Angry At A WWE Creative Decision
Jimmy Uso thinks his WrestleMania 40 match could’ve been better.
At WrestleMania 40 Night 1, Jimmy Uso faced Jey Uso in a singles match, which the latter won by pinfall. The match was a result of Jimmy’s betrayal of his own twin brother.
Many fans and critics alike called out WWE for the poor booking of the match. It felt repetitive, slow-paced, and failed to deliver the expected emotional intensity. Moreover, the time for the match was cut short due to scheduling issues, forcing the brothers to rush and remove planned story elements.
Jimmy Uso Was “Pissed Off” With WWE For Cutting His Match Short
Jey Uso later admitted he felt he let fans down and wished they could’ve had a better match. Jimmy Uso was asked to comment on his WrestleMania 40 match during his recent interview on the Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg podcast.
He admitted that the time constraint primarily caused the underwhelming quality of the bout and was very angry about it.
I say it was just time, bro. Like you got two twin brothers, man, that finally get together. They’re going against each other, man. This meant a lot to us, both of us. So, we thought we were going to get to cook, man. Especially like with our angle and how we’ve been such a part of it this whole story and, you know, we’ve just been leveling up every year since. And when we got there, man, you are talking about, “Yeah, hell yeah, I was pissed off. Hell yeah, I felt some kind of way.”
Jimmy Uso added that he kept a positive attitude during the match, and thankfully, it helped save his and his brother’s WrestleMania moment from getting ruined.
But then it’s like, “Hey, just remember this. No matter what they’re telling us today and how much time we got or whatever they want us to do out there, understand this, brother. Don’t let this take away from our moment, though. It’s me and you in there. It’s WrestleMania, dog. We are in the city of brotherly love. I’m going against you, brother. I’m happy. I’m blessed. I’m fulfilled today.” So, other than that, man, they couldn’t take me off my rocket, man. They couldn’t take me off my high horse. (From 1:04:00)
