Jim Ross On AEW Star – “Every Time You See Him, You Want To Slap Him”

Jim Ross praised one of AEW’s top heels in a very interesting way.

According to JR, Christian Cage has done such an incredible job of generating heat and getting fans truly upset at what he says and does that he very well might be the top bad guy in the company.

Speaking on a recent episode of his Grilling JR Podcast, Jim Ross said that the way Cage talks and the fact that he isn’t afraid to go to greater lengths to say despicable things make him such a top-tier villain in AEW.

“He’s a hell of a heel right now. There nobody in pro wrestling that has garnered the angst and developed the antagonist image. Every time you see him, you want to slap him.”

What has Christian said and done to become so hated in AEW and so respected by Jim Ross?

Christian Cage hasn’t been why about cutting promos that sound real or at the very least blur the line between scripted and real. In one famous promo he went after Jungle Boy’s mother and said that she “raised a piece of s**t”.

He has also done things like call out Jungle Boy’s father not long after Luke Perry’s passing, insult both Matt and Jeff Hardy shortly after Jeff’s highly publicized DUI arrest, and also mocked Nick Wayne for his father’s passing as well.

Christian Cage appears to be involved in a feud with his longtime best friend Adam Copeland, formerly known as Edge, but is also scheduled to defend his AEW TNT Championship against Bryan Danielson.
