The main event of NXT Deadline was one for the ages, as the spot was reserved for the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. Just like with the women’s match before them, all contestants were selected by legendary WWE wrestler John Cena.

Joe Hendry, Je’Von Evans, Dion Lennox, and TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater were all handpicked by Cena, while he made a match between Trick Williams and Myles Borne a qualifying match, which was won by Borne.

The Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge provided a lot of thrills to the fans, and WWE Evolve Women’s Champion, Kendal Grey, was crowned the Iron Survivor and was joined by another NXT superstar at the end of the night.

Slater, who became the first non-WWE contracted superstar to compete in the match, started the match against Je’Von Evans. The two wrestlers recently tagged together to try and win the NXT Tag Team Championships at Gold Rush 2025.

Both wrestlers were evenly matched as they knew each other’s moves quite well, having been tagging together in the recent past. They started the match with some amazing, high-flying which saw both of them exchange momentum. Evans picked up the first point of the night with a surprise pin over Slater just before Myles Borne joined them in the match.

Borne earned the right to choose his spot at this past week’s NXT, and he chose the number three spot for himself. Borne took out Slater and Evans when they were both battling with each other as he looked for his first point of the match. It was then time for Dion Lennox to enter the match as none of the wrestlers added more points on the board.

Lennox took out everyone as soon as he came into the ring, but Slater and Evans soon ganged up on him and assaulted the leader of the DarkState. However, Lennox made a comeback in the match and hit a superlex powerslam on Je’Von Evans to pick up his first point. Joe Hendry was the last person to enter the match as chaos was erupting in the ring between the four wrestlers.

He took out all of his opponents one after the other before he hit Myles Borne with a modified fireman’s carry move to earn a pin. Leon Slater was the next to earn a point as he hit Hendry with a Swanton 450 to gain his first point. Borne eventually earned his first point as well, as he hit the Born Again on Lennox twice, making the match a five-way tie between all the competitors.

As the match headed towards the end, all wrestlers began to dig deep into their arsenal of moves as the match remained tied with less than two minutes to go. Evans looked to earn another point with less than a minute to go after he hit Slatter with two cutters, but the pin was broken up.

All five competitors scrambled to get the final pin as the clock ticked towards the 25th-minute mark. Ultimately, it was Je’Von Evans who put Borne in an inside cradle pin to earn the deciding point with only a second to go, as he became NXT’s Iron Survivor.
