Jake Roberts Names Vince McMahon As Dream Retirement Opponent
Jake Roberts has one name in mind for a WrestleMania retirement match, the WWE Executive Chairman himself, Vince McMahon.
Roberts and McMahon have had a rocky relationship over the years. While Roberts was one of McMahon’s biggest stars in the late 1980s into the early 1990s, he ended up leaving WWE in 1992 when he felt his boss had lied to him one too many times.
The final straw came when McMahon reneged on a promise he had made for Roberts to take over from Pat Patterson when he stood down. When the moment came, McMahon instead decided not to fill Patterson’s role at all, a decision that led to Roberts jumping ship to WCW.
Roberts later came back to the company briefly in 1996 before being released the following year due to his well-documented addiction issues.
While he seemed to repair his relationship with the company over the following decades, even being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014, it seems he still has some scores to settle with McMahon.
Jake Roberts wants to DDT Vince McMahon on concrete
On the latest edition of his Snake Pit podcast, Roberts was asked who his dream retirement opponent at WrestleMania would be, and the star didn’t hesitate in naming McMahon, “so he could kick his f***ing ass.”
“Vince McMahon, so I could f***ing kick his ass [laughs]. I’d love to DDT that motherf***er on a chair…drop him on the concrete like I did Steamboat.”
When it comes to the potential payday for such a bout, Roberts was less than optimistic.
“Probably about as bad as they always were.”
