Jade Cargill Compares Herself To Roman Reigns Amid Criticism
She may be The Storm, tearing through one female talent at a time, but these days, criticism follows Jade Cargill wherever she goes.
The 33-year-old star is a former two-time tag team champion in the Stamford promotion and also won the Queen of the Ring Tournament at WWE Night of Champions.
She was signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) for nearly three years before making her debut with World Wrestling Entertainment in late 2023.
Cargill currently performs on the SmackDown brand and challenged Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, but was unsuccessful.
Nevertheless, she remains a top star with immense talent and an enviable physical presence.
As for the criticism, observers claim she lacks in-ring experience, often calling her “green.”
Fans had also called her out for one of her social media posts, wherein she declared that she’s “surrounded by wolves in the shape of women.”
The promo did not sit well with the female talent backstage. She was also involved in a backstage confrontation with former WWE star Shayna Baszler over botched spots.
She was recently featured in a backstage segment on SmackDown, first confronting Stratton, then engaging in a dialogue with Kiana James and Women’s United States Champion Giulia.
Jade Cargill Addresses Criticism By Comparing Herself To Roman Reigns
Jade Cargill’s ascension in wrestling has been unprecedented.
She recently appeared on The Babyfaces Podcast, where she touched upon various subjects, including the criticism she has received.
Jade Cargill likened her situation to Roman Reigns’ when he was heavily booed by fans everywhere, but is cheered today.
I’m four years and some change now in this industry and I think the other person I think had the less amount of time was Bianca (Belair) and I think she was 11 years in the game, and people want things so quick and so fast because I’ve been pushed to the moon because I’m gonna be a star and people see that. People used to say stuff about Roman (Reigns). Now, everybody loves Roman.
Cargill also recalled a moment with Bryan Danielson during their AEW days together. Danielson had praised her comfort inside the squared circle despite lacking experience.
She also named one of her biggest rivals as her inspiration. Read whom she referenced here.
