Is WWE Planning To Release More Talent After Crown Jewel?
WWE released several wrestlers ahead of Crown Jewel on Saturday.
While none of these stars belonged to the main roster, they represented either ID, NXT, or EVOLVE brands. Some popular names on the list were Wes Lee, Lance Anoa’i, and Stevie Turner.
While a report following the releases suggested that more names could leave the Stamford promotion, Fightful has revealed that there is no such plan.
The report further revealed that the promotion let go of the developmental talents in order to facilitate the recruitment of new wrestlers.
It has also been noted that WWE wanted to re-sign some of these wrestlers, but the individuals decided against it.
World Wrestling Entertainment continues recycling its roster, be it with main roster releases or developmental talent. With no more releases expected for the time being, it is happy days for many.
Triple H’s WWE Status Amid Departure Rumors
Triple H has been at the receiving end of criticism from fans and critics for various reasons.
There were even rumors circulating about his departure due to TKO being unhappy with him. Amid the rumors, some reports also suggested that there was an internal power struggle in WWE.
At one point, even Cody Rhodes chimed in on the discussion when he was asked if he’d like to be where Triple H is in ten years.
All these casual discussions have led to people believing that the WWE Chief Content Officer may leave the promotion soon.
However, in truth, that is not the case, as TKO is not upset with having him at the helm.
Dave Meltzer recently rebuked these talks, stating:
He is getting zero pressure right now that he has to bring up the gates, because they are the biggest they’ve ever been, or bring up merchandise numbers, which are also at a high water mark. He doesn’t go out there and put everything out full tilt like many bookers would and have done historically that only cared about the houses on Friday and Saturday of this week, because there is no pressure in that regard.
