Important AEW Star Signs New Contract
As Chris Jericho moves ever closer to the AEW exit, another veteran has confirmed they’re staying put.
On the latest episode of his podcast, Chris Jericho gave the biggest hint yet that he’s done with AEW and heading to WWE when his contract expires. This could see Jericho back with his former employer for the 2026 Royal Rumble.
However, a different former WWE Superstar has no intention of following him.
During a new interview with Adventure Gamers, MVP revealed that he’s recently signed a contract with AEW while heaping praise on Tony Khan. The star originally signed with the company back in September 2024, debuting at Grand Slam in New York.
“I do want to say this. I want to say thank you to Tony Khan, because recently I signed an extension and I’ll be with AEW for quite a while in my current capacity and hopefully beyond in a managerial capacity and to whatever extent, possibly behind the scenes.
I’m very happy where I’m at right now in my career at this stage to be able to continue to contribute to the business and make money with my friends and entertain at the level that we’re still able to maintain. I appreciate Tony Khan for giving me, Bobby and Shelton an opportunity to get the team back together for a final run and the future looks bright.”
AEW Star Has No Love For Triple H
During the same interview, MVP also doubled down on his criticism of Triple H, siding with Bret Hart’s assessment of the WWE boss.
The AEW star went on to describe The Game as a coward and a liar, pointing to the lengthy list of usually former wrestlers who don’t like him. He explained that while he’s supported by several former NXT stars he’s helped to stardom, when it comes to people he worked with during his time in the ring, it’s a different story.
Back in May, MVP said that he had “zero respect” for Triple H as a result of their previous interactions backstage.
