IMPACT Wrestling Star Confirms Exit

IMPACT Wrestling stage

A top IMPACT Wrestling star has confirmed their on their way out of the promotion.

It was first reported by Fightful Select that former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Sami Callihan’s contract with the company was set to expire at the end of September. That report noted there was interest from both sides in possibly re-signing but that now looks like it might not happen.

Sami Callihan took to social media to confirm his status by sharing a graphic that confirmed he’d be a free agent as of the 30th of September 2023.

PWInsider reported that Callihan’s last appearance in the company will air on the 12th of October edition of IMPACT where he will team with Rich Swann against The Rascalz in a bout for the IMPACT Tag Team Championship. That bout has already been filmed meaning Callihan’s commitments with the company are now over unless he signs a new deal.

When did Sami Callihan join IMPACT Wrestling?

Prior to joining IMPACT Wrestling, Callihan had an ill-fated spell in NXT as Solomon Crowe. That opportunity came after he made his name on the independent scene but Callihan only made NXT TV eight times during his three years with the company before he was released in November 2015.

Callihan eventually made his way to IMPACT Wrestling in 2017 where he formed the Ohio Versus Everything group. Callihan reached the top spot in that company when he defeated Brian Cage for the IMPACT World Championship in October 2019 before losing the title just three months later to Tessa Blanchard.
