Hulk Hogan’s Death Sparked Anxiety For Ric Flair
Ric Flair is opening up about the emotional burden he carried after Hulk Hogan’s death.
Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, passed away on July 24 in Florida, aged 71, after suffering a cardiac arrest.
In an interview with TMZ, Flair was inconsolable, as he recalled his friendship with the Hulkster, claiming they were close friends despite how the media and public projected them.
The 16-time world champion recently appeared on the Clay Edwards Show podcast, where he discussed various topics, including the WWE-ESPN deal and Hulk Hogan.
Ric Flair said he attended Hogan’s funeral, where Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Shane McMahon, and Vince McMahon were also present.
He admitted that the death of his close friend made him question his own mortality.
The funny thing is we’ve lost so many guys. That’s what… when Hogan went, it kind of gave me anxiety ‘cause I’m 5 years older than he is. [13:15 onwards]
Ric Flair Didn’t Know About Hulk Hogan’s Poor Health
Ric Flair recently confessed that he was unaware of Hulk Hogan’s ill health.
The Nature Boy, who recently recovered from skin cancer, appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show to speak about his wrestling journey.
When asked if he knew about Hogan’s deteriorating condition, he said the Hulk’s death came as a shock to him.
No, not at all, he didn’t mention it at all. The guy brought me a word as to what, Jimmy Hart, and Jimmy and I have been close forever, and I’m sure he’s devastated right now, and I literally talked to Jimmy the day before he passed, and he said Hulk was fine, then the next day we all got the news.
Hulk Hogan received a tribute in the form of a 10-bell salute on all three brands—RAW, SmackDown, and NXT.
