Hardcore Holly Names Former WWE Superstar Who Was Fired After Altercation With Vince McMahon

Former WWE star Hardcore Holly revealed the real reason for Jon Heidenreich’s departure from the company and how it involved threats he made to the company’s top executives.

The revelation came during an episode of The Shoot in 2013, where Holly addressed previous claims made by Heidenreich, who had suggested Holly played a part in his WWE exit. Holly set the record straight, emphasising that Heidenreich’s dismissal was not influenced by him but rather stemmed from Heidenreich’s own actions. According to Holly, Heidenreich’s unprofessional behaviour and threats toward WWE executives Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis led to his firing in 2006.

The reason he lost his job was because of him. The biggest downfall was he was supposed to be at TV at 1 pm, and he showed up at 7 pm. They had big plans for him and Animal; he shows up at 7 pm and then threatens to beat up Johnny [Laurinaitis], then threatens to beat up Vince, so they got rid of him.

At the time, Heidenreich was working alongside Road Warrior Animal as part of a rebooted Legion of Doom tag team, Holly’s comments shed light on the missed potential of Heidenreich’s run with the promotion. The company had significant plans for Heidenreich, making his tardiness and subsequent threats a costly misstep that cut short his trajectory in WWE.

Which WWE Hall Of Famer Recalled Breaking Hardcore Holly’s Arm Early In Their Career?

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle remembered how he broke Hardcore Holly’s arm the first time he tried to perform a moonsault. Angle spoke about how he was still a rookie in the wrestling business when he tried to execute a moonsault onto Holly on an episode of SmackDown but he mistimed his jump and landed with both of his shins onto Holly’s arm which left him with a compound fracture, Angle then took Holly to hospital himself and said he called him every day to check on him as he felt bad about causing the injury.
