Grayson Waller Sets Sights On Gold In WWE
Grayson Waller is aiming to capture gold for the first time in WWE.
Since arriving in the company in 2021, Waller has been one of the rising stars of the company, being part of several high-profile feuds in NXT before moving to the main roster when he was drafted to SmackDown in April 2023.
Waller’s first match on the blue brand came in July when he took on Edge in Madison Square Garden. Although he put on an impressive performance, he couldn’t quite overcome the Hall of Famer and fell to a Spear.
Despite the loss, Waller continues to set his sights high, and on a recent edition of WWE Die Woche, he revealed that his next goal is to capture the United States Championship
“There’s a lot (of championships I have my eyes on). I’ve done some big things in my career in the WWE. I’ve almost done it all but the one thing I haven’t done yet is win a championship so I think it’s time that I need to change that up.
“The one that I’m looking at is the United States Championship. I think that’s a championship with a lot of history, a lot of big names have won that and I look at that division and I’m just like, it’s missing something. I think it’s missing Grayson Waller.”
Grayson Waller missed his chance for a shot at the WWE United States Championship
Waller did have a chance to become the Number 1 Contender for the title in a Fatal Fourway match on the July 14th edition of SmackDown, but Santos Escobar won the bout instead. Despite this, the star is confident he will win the title sooner rather than later.
“I had my opportunity in a four-way. Santos (Escobar) stole that match from me. So whether it’s Santos Escobar, Austin Theory, it doesn’t matter. I think you’re gonna see Grayson Waller with that United States Championship very soon.”
