Grayson Waller Names WWE Star He Wants To Wrestle

Grayson Waller is a rising star in WWE that knows exactly who he wants to face in WWE by calling one of the company’s biggest stars “the best” in the business.

For the past 15 months, Grayson Waller has become one of the biggest shining stars in WWE’s NXT brand. The brash Australian is very talented in the ring, he delivers some of the best promos in NXT and his cocky attitude gets him a lot of heat from the crowd.

At NXT Deadline, Waller got the biggest win of his career when he won the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match over Carmelo Hayes, Joe Gacy, Axiom and JD McDonagh. Waller got the win with three falls in the matches while others had two or fewer. It was a 25-minute match where the most falls wins.

Thanks to his victory, Waller will get to challenge Bron Breakker for the NXT Title at the NXT New Year’s Evil on January 10th. This past week on NXT TV, Grayson Waller ran away from Breakker when the champion chased after him.

During an appearance on WWE’s After The Bell podcast with Corey Graves & Kevin Patrick, Waller said there was a guy he wanted to face that hasn’t said anything back to him, so he’s going after Cody Rhodes.

“There is one answer I’m not going to say because I’ve been calling this guy out for twelve months and he’s not said anything back, so I’m going to give it up. Corey (Graves), I’m going to put this towards you. I’ve always heard stories about Dusty Rhodes in NXT.”

“Everyone has told stories about how incredible he was, I never got to work with him because I came in too late, but I was always like, ‘Man, I wish I got to work with Dusty.’ Everyone says incredible stories. I feel the PC [WWE Performance Center] is Dusty’s house. I came in, I knocked the door down, I moved in, this is my house now and I live rent free in this house and I run NXT.”

“I genuinely think and want to see if Cody has anything to say about that. I want to see what he has to say about that. He’s the measuring stick right now when it comes to superstars. I’ve met Cody before and when he walks in a room, it’s a different feeling, it’s like, ‘Wow, that’s the guy.’ If I’m going to main event WrestleMania, I want to stand across from the guy. I want to stand across from Cody Rhodes and I want to see what that feels like and I want to test myself. I want to challenge the best and Cody is the best.”

That’s high praise from Grayson Waller.

While Cody Rhodes has been out of action since June’s Hell in a Cell Premium Live Event with a torn pectoral muscle, Cody is apparently looking very muscular and should be ready to return to the ring very soon. That means that Waller could get his match with Rhodes, perhaps at some point in 2023.
