Goldberg Praises Bron Breakker: “Unbelievably Athletic”

Bron Breakker with the NXT Championship

With comparisons being made between the two, Goldberg has praised Bron Breakker whilst discussing how things have come “full circle” between himself and the NXT Champion.

Golberg’s iconic streak and aura in the wrestling industry are legendary, and whilst many have been touted for following in his footsteps, Bron Breakker certainly seems like one of the most likely candidates.

Being the son of Rick Steiner, the NXT Champion has the pedigree to take it to the top as well as the physical ability which has shown during his title reigns, showing the hallmarks of someone who is set for greatness.

This has not been lost on Goldberg, who has opened up in a discussion on the Roman Atwood Podcast about the relationship he has shared with both Breakker and his family, and how the similarities between the two are obvious.

Well, he’s me basically. He’s spearing dudes and they wanted him to jackhammer people. He’s the son of one of my best friends and I love this kid. He went up and he tried to play for Baltimore, I think he was a free agent for the Ravens. The kid is unbelievably athletic but he’s one of the smartest kids, man. He’s knowledgeable in the business because he grew up with it. I was hanging out with him and his dad when he was Gage’s age. Now look at him.

He’s calling me last night and we’re talking about the business and he’s like ‘Man, if Gage ever needs anybody to make a phone call for him, I’ve got a rolodex of these coaches.’ I’m like, is this really Steiner’s son man? I remember when he was Gage’s age. It’s cool, it’s cool how it’s all cyclical and we’re all taking care of each other. You’ve got great friends and a great group, even through the generations they all take care of each other.

Whilst Bron Breakker is set to defend the NXT Championship in a triple-threat match against JD McDonagh and Ilja Dragunov at Halloween Havoc, there are already hints that he will make a move to either Raw or SmackDown after he made an on-screen appearance at Extreme Rules.

Meanwhile, Goldberg has noted that his contracted matches with WWE may have ended, but he doesn’t see his in-ring career as being over.
