Goldberg Makes Controversial Allegations Against WWE

Goldberg WWE

Goldberg recently recalled being part of the Monday Night Wars.

While at it, he attacked WWE by claiming it did everything in its power to undermine many things that WCW achieved during its existence.

As one of the top stars in the Eric Bischoff-led promotion, he experienced major success in a short time.

It was also the time when World Championship Wrestling was beating World Wrestling Federation (at the time called WWF) in TV ratings every week.

Goldberg became a household name in the late 1990s after winning 173 consecutive matches without suffering a loss. The streak approximately lasted 1 year and 3 months before being broken by Kevin Nash.

Interestingly, a modern-day WWE superstar overtook that record, and Goldberg seemingly has an issue with that.

Goldberg Accuses WWE Of Intentionally Desecrating His Long-Standing Record

While appearing on Real Talk with Mike Burke, the host brought up the retired wrestler’s record, stating it will never be broken.

Goldberg reminded him that the Stamford promotion already achieved it, while referring to the superstar as “some girl.”

They already did. Some girl at WWE. They did it on purpose. I have nothing against the girl, by any means, but yeah. The whole WWE experience…I was part of WCW when we were kicking their ass in the Monday Night Wars.

I didn’t know what was going on at the time, I was just on one of the sides. Now, one side dissolves and the other one consumes everything, so they can treat everyone and everything the way they want. I think there is always going to be the bird in their ass that I was part of a company where I was the champion in a very short period of time and we were beating them in the ratings. The ‘girl’ Goldberg is referring to here is Asuka, who remained undefeated for 914 days, amassing a no-loss streak for approximately two and a half years.
