WWE Hall Of Famer Says That Goldberg Was “Hard To Handle” In WCW
Eric Bischoff, former WCW President and WWE Hall of Famer discussed the challenges of managing talent during his time running WCW, highlighting Bill Goldberg as the toughest personality to work with.
In a 2021 episode of his podcast 83 Weeks, Bischoff was asked to name the most difficult person he had to manage, and he pointed to Goldberg. However, he clarified that the challenges were not due to bad intentions on Bill’s part.
“On a consistent basis, it would’ve been Bill Goldberg. Not necessarily in a bad way, just that Bill was a very intense person, emotional, didn’t have a lot of experience, and was pretty uncomfortable in a pro wrestling environment when he first got there.”
He went on to elaborate on how Bill’s intense personality and lack of experience contributed to the challenges of working with him.
“As a result, you take somebody who has an intense personality, a very intense personality, a bit of a perfectionist who puts a lot of pressure on himself, who also lacks a lot of the experience and comfort that comes with experience, and you get a guy who’s a little hard to handle — or sometimes a lot hard to handle.”
Despite the difficulties, Bischoff emphasised that it wasn’t a negative experience, describing the challenges as “just a thing” rather than a personal flaw of the former WCW and WWE Champion. Goldberg, who debuted in WCW in 1997, would go on to become one of the company’s most successful and iconic stars, known for his 173-match undefeated streak and his explosive in-ring style that captivated audiences.
Which WWE Hall Of Famer Believes That Goldberg’s Infamous WCW Match With William Regal Was One Of His Best Ever?
