Fired WWE Star Expected His Release After Major Creative Decision

A recently fired WWE star has spoken about their departure.

Ridge Holland was unceremoniously let go by the company days before his contract expired.

Holland had been with the Stamford promotion for seven years and was informed in October that his contract would not be renewed.

Though he was earlier a main roster talent, he was demoted to NXT after working out a deal with the company and taking a massive pay cut. He was then made a regular on EVOLVE.

Adding to that disappointment, he injured his foot during a wrestling match in TNA a few weeks ago.

The 37-year-old star then took to X to vent his frustration, only for it to backfire.

In his tweet, Holland accused WWE of leaving him hung out to dry, while also revealing his financial constraints.

Unfortunately for him, the Stamford promotion responded in a way it thought was right, cutting his contract rather than waiting for it to expire.

Appearing on TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast, the British superstar admitted that he knew he would be released when he was added to EVOLVE.

I kind of knew the writing was on the wall when I got taken off TV and put on EVOLVE. I’m not silly. I can read the room. So there’s a stress that comes with that… [H/T: Fightful]

WWE Star Raises Money For Ridge Holland

In a show of support and respect, several wrestlers, including one WWE star, raised money for the recently released Ridge Holland, real name Luke Menzies.

After reports about his release made the news, a GoFundMe campaign was set up for him by a “Susan Chapman of Saint Cloud, Florida.”

The campaign aimed to raise $60,000 to support his family, which included three children.

Chelsea Green stepped up and donated $1,000. The campaign also witnessed donations from superstars from other promotions, including Kyle Fletcher, Nick Jackson, and Raj Dhesi (Jinder Mahal).
