WWE Terminates Ex-Champion’s Contract Early After Calling Company Out

Triple H WWE

WWE has wielded the axe on one star’s contract after they publicly called out the company and claimed they’d been hung out to dry.

On October 13th, Ridge Holland announced that he’d been informed by WWE that his contract won’t be renewed when it expires in mid-November.

In a statement, the star said that his seven-year run with the company had been “blighted by misfortune,” but he remained thankful for all of the opportunities he’d been given. Holland was involved in the injury that led to Big E’s career coming to an unfortunate end.

The story around Holland has proved to be especially controversial because he was given the news while recovering from a serious foot injury suffered in September while wrestling in TNA. As such, his departure drew a great deal of backlash online, although Holland confirmed that WWE has paid for his surgery.

In a new post on social media, Holland has now laid bare the struggle he faces after being let go by WWE. The British star admitted that he never imagined he’d be able to pay his mortgage, describing the company’s efforts to pay his medical bills as the “bare minimum.” He concluded by saying he’d been “totally f*cked.”

WWE Cut Ridge Holland’s Contract

Fightful Select has now reported that Holland – real name Luke Menzies – has had his deal terminated early by WWE. Word from within the company suggested that his social media post had been a breach of his contract, so he was released before the deal came to its end. The report noted that it was strongly suggested that Holland will not be paid until his original contract end date.

Holland has already been booked for a non-wrestling appearance by GCW.
