Xavier Woods has come to the defense of fellow WWE superstar Ridge Holland, who is getting some not-so-kind messages from fans regarding Big E’s injury.

The March 11th, 2022 edition of WWE Smackdown was a sad night because of the injury suffered by former WWE Champion and New Day member Big E. The big man and his New Day tag team partner Kofi Kingston faced Sheamus and Ridge Holland in tag team action.

There was a spot during the match when Holland gave Big E an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on the floor. Unfortunately, Big E wasn’t able to land properly because Big E landed on the top of his head. Big E suffered a broken neck and hasn’t been cleared to wrestle since that moment one year ago today.

In an interview with TMZ Sports that we covered here, Big E maintained his positive attitude as he talked about upcoming doctor visits. Big E said he would be cool with whatever the news is regarding his career.

“I just want to make the best decision. I just got to see what the scans say and then talk to doctors and go from there. Right now, before I know anything, I’m not going to make any rush to judgments or anything. See how everything looks.”

“No anxiety at all. Everything isn’t permanent. If it comes to an end, cool. If it doesn’t, cool. What will be, will be. I’m good with whatever.”

Even though Holland’s Smackdown spot one year ago was an accident, Holland has apparently been dealing with some hate from fans, including death threats.

Many people have come to Holland’s defense including Xavier Woods, who is one of Big E’s best friends. The trio of Xavier Woods, Big E & Kofi Kingston formed The New Day eight years ago, they are as close as brothers and have become one of the best groups/stables in WWE history.

Xavier Woods urged fans to be kind to Holland while making the point that pro wrestling can be dangerous.

“Pro Wrestling is extremely dangerous. All of us involved understand that. Ridge & his family do not deserve to be treated this way. Please do not send any hate towards them. Instead use your energy to do something positive like sending love to E. Be kind. Please be kind.”

As for Big E, despite his uncertain future in pro wrestling, he maintains a positive attitude and recently got to live a dream by riding a Zamboni at a Columbus Blue Jackets hockey game.
