Finn Balor On Why He Enjoys Being A Heel More Than Babyface

Finn Balor is enjoying his time as a heel in WWE as part of The Judgment Day much more than his past as a babyface.

For most of Finn Balor’s WWE career which started about a decade ago in NXT following a lot of success in New Japan, he has been in a babyface role. However, for over one year now, he’s been a top villain on Raw as part of The Judgment Day group.

At WWE Payback last week, Finn Balor & Damian Priest beat Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens to become the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions in a match that was a Steel City Street Fight. It wasn’t a clean win since they got help from Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio and Balor’s friend JD McDonagh, but in a Street Fight, everything was legal.

Since Balor & Priest are now champions, they have joined their Judgment Day teammates Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley and NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio as champions in the group. Clearly, The Judgment Day is running Raw like they say they do.

Finn Balor really likes being in a heel role

In an interview with The Ringer Wrestling Show, Finn Balor was asked if he liked being a heel more than being a babyface, which he was for many years earlier in his WWE career.

“752 times better. Yeah, I’m just out there having a wild old time really enjoying myself letting them go and kind of feeling it in the moment. Sometimes there’ll be a negative reaction, sometimes there’ll be a positive reaction, but there’s always a reaction, and that’s what we have to kind of work off. It’s been a lot of fun for me since turning heel so to speak.”

During the same interview, Balor also praised Dominik Mysterio as the “future of the business” due to how good he already is after only three years on the WWE main roster.
