“I Don’t Mean To Insult Him” – Ex-WWE Star’s Controversial Take On Gunther
Gunther is getting scrutinized by a former WWE employee.
The Ring General defended his World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam against CM Punk.
While he dominated most of the match, the result ultimately went in Punk’s favor after he hit Gunther with two GTSs.
The match also witnessed Seth Rollins cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on Punk, resulting in the title changing hands for the second time within a few minutes.
In the past, ex-WWE commentator Jonathan Coachman has been critical of the Austrian brute, even stating that the man could put him to sleep with his performance.
On the latest episode of The Coach & Bro podcast, Coach claimed that he did not mean to insult Gunther, but maintained his stand while stating that other people supported his viewpoint.
He’s a boring wrestler. And I don’t mean to insult him, and I don’t know him. I’m sure he’s a hell of a nice guy, but his style is not a style that I like, and it doesn’t entertain me. And that match Saturday night was boring until the end. It just was, and I wasn’t the only one. [0:15:39 onwards]
WWE Star Gunther To Undergo Surgery
During his WWE SummerSlam match, Gunther was shown as a bloody mess after CM Punk tripped him on the announcer’s desk.
This act was woven into the storyline due to a legitimate nose issue he had been dealing with.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer confirmed it and said that Gunther was set to undergo surgery.
I was told Gunther is having surgery on his nose. I was told that a couple of days ago. It was very clear from the finish Gunther is having surgery on his nose pretty quick because they shot the angle. That busted nose thing, that was 100% worked blood and planned. It was totally planned.
The 37-year-old is expected to miss screen time, although the timeline on his return remains uncertain.
