Controversial Ex-WWE Star Says Chances Of Return Are High

Triple H WWE

A former WWE star has backed themselves to re-sign with the company.

Matt Riddle was released by WWE in September 2023 after a controversy-laden run with the company. His exit came after an incident at JFK Airport, where he appeared to be intoxicated, and fellow passengers noted he was “loud and rude.”

Matt Riddle also alleged that he’d been sexually harassed by an officer at the airport.

Since leaving WWE, Riddle has also confirmed he failed two drug tests while under contract.

Despite this, in a new interview with Steven Muelhausen of SI Takedown, Riddle suggested his chances of returning to the company are “extremely high.”

“The chances of me going back, I think they’re extremely high. If CM Punk, who filed a lawsuit against WWE, and then raked them through the mud for a decade, then goes to the competition, I’ll tell you this, if he can do that, everything can be forgiven. I know I wasn’t the easiest to work with at times. I think the door is always open.

I think the longer I’m away, the harder I work, and the more I do, the more likely I could come back. But I’ll also say this, if I never go back ever again, and they never talk to me again, I’ll be ok with that.”

Randy Orton Wants Matt Riddle Back In WWE

During an interview back in June, Matt Riddle claimed Randy Orton has repeatedly asked when he’s returning to WWE.

While teaming with Orton, Riddle’s popularity hit an all-time as the odd-couple tag team won the Raw Tag Team Titles twice. The controversial star was released during Orton’s injury-enforced hiatus from the ring.

Since leaving WWE, Riddle has become a regular on the independent circuit while appearing for MLW and NJPW.
