Ex-WWE Champion Shockingly Vacates Title & NXT Star Wins Gold
A former WWE superstar vacated a TNA Championship, which led to an NXT wrestler winning the vacated title.
Ash By Elegance was known in the pro wrestling world as WWE’s Dana Brooke for over a decade, until her September 2023 release.
In WWE, Brooke held the “coveted” WWE 24/7 Title 15 times, but she was never pushed as a threat and a contender for the Women’s Title on Raw or SmackDown.
After her WWE run ended, Brooke became TNA’s Ash by Elegance, which led to her starting the “Elegance Brand” with her personal concierge, and she was joined by wrestlers Heather By Elegance and M By Elegance.
At the NXT Heatwave PLE in late August, Ash By Elegance won the TNA Knockouts Championship from champion Jacy Jayne and former champion Masha Slamovich in a triple threat match. Ash finally won a prominent singles title in pro wrestling, and she was very emotional about it.
At TNA Victory Road in Edmonton, TNA President Carlos Silva and Director of Authority Santino Marella were in the ring as Knockouts World Champion Ash By Elegance made a special announcement. Ash was emotional as she revealed that she could no longer compete, although she did not specify why. Ash announced that she was stepping away from in-ring competition and reluctantly forfeited the Knockouts World Title.
We wish Ash By Elegance all the best with what she is dealing with.
WWE NXT’s Kelani Jordan Becomes TNA Knockouts Champion
One person’s loss is another person’s opportunity as the women of TNA competed in a battle royal to determine which two women would have a singles match for a shot at the Knockouts.
The battle royal was won by NXT’s Kelani Jordan and Lei Ying Lee, who is a TNA Knockout. The others in the battle royal were Lili “La Pescadita” Ruiz, Jody Threat, Xia Brookside, Dani Luna, M By Elegance, Cassie Lee, Jessie McKay, and Heather By Elegance.
Later in the show, Kelani Jordan faced Lei Ying Lee for the vacant TNA Knockouts Title while TNA Knockout Indi Hartwell was the referee of the match. Jordan got the win with her One of a Kind moonsault off the top rope to become the new TNA Knockouts Champion.
After the match, Jordan was congratulated by Lei Ying Lee and Ash By Elegance, who were emotional while congratulating the new champion.
Kelani Jordan is the second NXT wrestler to hold the TNA Knockouts Title after Jacy Jayne had it for 35 days earlier this summer.
