Ex-WWE Champion Unsure He’ll Ever Return To Company
WWE is always in the news for the influx and exit of its talents.
Although in 2025, the Stamford promotion attracted negative press for its releases more than ever.
It started with the mass release of wrestlers on May 2, followed by the talent that left after their contracts ended or due to contract negotiations failing on either end.
One of the talents in the latter bracket was Karrion Kross, who left WWE on August 10 with his wife, Scarlett.
After their release, the couple revealed how there was mistreatment on the company’s part, with less room for transparency. Scarlett even accused the Talent Relations for using her as leverage to get Kross to re-sign.
While appearing on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight, Karrion Kross speculated that he might not return to WWE.
I mean, I’ll speak for myself. You could answer this separately, if you like. I don’t know. I don’t know what that door looks like, or what’s even on the other side of it. I’m still completely perturbed by the conversation that we had; it was so bizarre and strange and shocking.
What Happened During Karrion Kross’ WWE Contract Negotiations?
After leaving WWE, Karrion Kross recalled feeling ‘profoundly disappointed’ during contract negotiation.
In a documentary titled “The Killer Part 2,” which Kross released on his YouTube channel, he revealed:
I expressed interest to renegotiate in early January with WWE. I think it’s crazy, preposterous that anyone would think that I wouldn’t want to be here or like go somewhere else. It’s frustrating because you express your interest to say and be here and do things…I’m not going to beg, I’ve already been clear.
Many months have gone by and we never had a single conversation about it until recently, and I don’t even feel like the conversation I’ve had recently was like an actual serious one.
The conversation made me really angry because I just didn’t feel like it was a real conversation….there really wasn’t anything that was discussed of real substance. Actually, it didn’t make me angry and it didn’t make me upset, it just profoundly disappointed me because I think about this business probably differently than the person I was speaking to because of the nature of what I do.
