Ex-WWE Champion Shuts Door On Ever Returning For Another Run
A former WWE Champion recently confirmed that they won’t be returning to the squared circle for another run.
Kelly Kelly is a one-time Divas Champion, who won the title in 2011 and held it for 104 days.
The now 38-year-old star debuted on the ECW brand in 2006, aged 19, thus becoming the youngest Diva on the roster. She was there till April 2008 before being moved to the RAW brand in July.
On the red brand, she was involved in various feuds, including with the likes of Jillian Hall and Maryse.
She unsuccessfully contested for the WWE Divas Championship a few times before being drafted to SmackDown in 2010.
It was however in 2011 when she struck gold after being called back to RAW. On the June 20 episode, she challenged Brie Bella for the title and defeated her to win the belt for the first time.
After losing the title to Beth Phoenix, the two feuded a few times. She was ultimately released on September 28, 2012. Kelly Kelly later stated that she needed time to heal from a neck injury.
In September 2023, she gave birth to twins.
Kelly Kelly Says No To WWE Return
Since her release, Kelly Kelly has made sporadic appearances in WWE. She briefly even became the 24/7 Champion, losing it to Candice Michelle.
In April 2025, she signed a legends deal with the Stamford promotion.
The former champion recently appeared on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast. The chat immediately kicked off with her motherhood, then shifting to wrestlers who are mothers.
Kelly Kelly appeared amazed with the commitment and achievements of Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss. When asked if she could ever do it, she replied:
Not with two (kids). I don’t know. I think with two you’re pushing it. I just think it’s already so much whenever I try to go out of town with them and we do vacations.
Elsewhere, the return of another former WWE Divas Champion is being teased after the events that unfolded at Clash in Paris.
