Almost “Everything Advertised Didn’t Happen” On WWE Raw
WWE Raw saw several last-minute changes once again.
The card was subject to change on Raw in San Jose, California as several things that had been advertised for the show didn’t happen.
Nia Jax and her former tag team partner Shayna Baszler were meant to go one-on-one but that match didn’t happen with the two women involved in a brawl to open the show. Raquel Rodriguez also got involved in attacking Jax but inadvertently took out Baszler as well. That brought out Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley who took the fight to Jax as well.
Becky Lynch among WWE Raw changes
A planned match between Tegan Nox and Becky Lynch was pulled from the show – not for the first time – due to Lynch not being cleared following her match with Tiffany Stratton at NXT No Mercy.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that almost everything that had been advertised for the show didn’t happen for one reason or another:
“So one thing about the show is everything advertised didn’t happen. Like everything. Nia and Shyana never had the match. Damian Priest wasn’t cleared, Becky Lynch and Tegan Knox didn’t happen because Becky wasn’t cleared. Shayna and Nia didn’t happen because they decided not to have it happen.”
Bryan Alvarez noted that the contract signing between Tommaso Ciampa and GUNTHER happened as advertised – although it did lead to an unadvertised main event for the Intercontinental Title and that the match between Xavier Woods and Ivar also took place as advertised.
Also on Raw, a huge Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship match was set for Fastlane as Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes will challenge Damian Priest and Finn Balor for the gold.
