Drew McIntyre’s WWE Suspension Lifted

Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre’s WWE return has been announced despite the former World Heavyweight Champion being suspended for hitting the Raw General Manager Adam Pearce.

At Money in the Bank, Drew McIntyre thought he’d got it all figured out. In the opening match of the night, he just about dodged the wreckage around him to win the men’s Money in the Bank contract.

Later in the show, McIntyre cashed in that contract during the World Heavyweight Title match between Seth Rollins and Damian Priest. But, just as he was closing in on victory, CM Punk appeared from nowhere to beat McIntyre from pillar to post with a steel chair, and then the World Heavyweight Title belt.

With the Scottish star now battered and beaten, Priest delivered a South of Heaven Chokeslam to retain his title. His victory, and Punk’s involvement, also mean Rollins won’t be able to challenge for the title again while Priest is champion.

That was the third time CM Punk has screwed Drew McIntyre out of his title and McIntyre was furious. During the post-show, an irate McIntyre ranted before elbowing Raw General Manager Adam Pearce in the head as he and referees tried to drag him away. Ultimately it was Wade Barrett who managed to drag McIntyre away before more damage was done. One WWE star has claimed to have feared for their life during the altercation.

Adam Pearce announced on social media that Drew McIntyre had been suspended and fined for his actions. But it seems McIntyre won’t have all that long to sit on the sidelines after all.

Drew McIntyre’s WWE Suspension Over Already

On Raw in Ottawa, CM Punk surprisingly went to bat for McIntyre asking Pearce to reinstate the star so he could presumably pick up where he left off at Money In The Bank. Pearce agreed to have Drew McIntyre back on the 15th of July edition on Raw but only on the condition that CM Punk would not be at the show, something he agreed with.

McIntyre had previously quit WWE but returned just a few days later to leave CM Punk battered and bloodied and now his suspension from the company is over even quicker.
