Drew McIntyre Says Ending To WWE Event Was “Worst Moment Of His Life”

At Clash at the Castle in 2022, Drew McIntyre clashed with Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Despite McIntyre being a huge favourite with fans, his dreams of World Championship gold were thwarted by the debuting Solo Sikoa.

The match also saw involvement from Tyson Fury who was watching on at ringside. The heavyweight boxing star took out Austin Theory preventing him from cashing in the Money In The Bank contract, before entering the ring once the bout was over. Fury congratulated Reigns, before singing “American Pie” with McIntyre.

The moment was panned by fans, and it seems McIntyre wasn’t too happy with it either.

Ahead of his match with Damian Priest at Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, McIntyre told Cultaholic the moment with Fury was the worst of his life.

“I was so happy getting Clash in Wales and doing the first [UK] stadium show since SummerSlam ’92, getting to main event. [I] obviously wasn’t happy getting screwed and the worst moment of my life, singing that stupid song afterwards,” he said.

Drew McIntyre Ready For Challenge From Young Star

During a different interview, Drew McIntyre was asked who he’d like to face if and when he regains the World Championship. The Scottish said he’s been too focused on winning back the gold but when he’s champion, he’ll continue to fight anyone who dares step up to face him.

McIntyre went on to describe Bron Breakker as a “person of interest,” commenting that he’s running through people on Raw. However, the star warned Breakker that he needs to channel his anger in the right direction.

It’s been reported that WWE has changed its plans for Bron Breakker as he’s been so impressive since moving to the main roster. The second-generation star moved to SmackDown from NXT back in February but has been demolishing everyone he sees on Raw since being picked by the red brand in the Draft.
