Details On Jade Cargill’s AEW Farewell, When She Could Sign With WWE
Jade Cargill appears to be done with AEW and is likely WWE-bound.
On September 14th, Fightful Select reported that the surprising news that Jade Cargill was likely to finish up with AEW not long after making her long-awaited return on Collision. The star had been absent since losing her TBS Championship to Kris Statlander at Double or Nothing, and on the September 9th episode of Collision, Cargill attacked Statlander to renew their rivalry.
To the shock of many fans, a rematch between the two women was booked for the September 15th episode of Rampage, leaving little time to build to the bout. Following the September 13th episode of AEW Dynamite, Rampage was also taped in Cincinnati, OH, and the episode saw Cargill defeated clean by Statlander.
Now, an update from Fightful Select sheds more light on the situation, revealing that after her match on Rampage, Cargill came backstage and was greeted by several roster members who exchanged hugs with the star, which was reportedly seen as her saying farewell to the company. Many in AEW believe she is WWE-bound, though there is no confirmation that she herself has indicated this, and she’s told people she may take time to focus on her family as well as the Texas Smoke softball team that she and her partner co-own.
Jade Cargill Could Sign With WWE “Imminently”
The report from Fightful Select notes that many within WWE believe Jade Cargill’s current deal could be structured in a manner that would allow to her to sign with WWE “imminently.” There was reportedly also discussion of Cargill holding option years in AEW, but Fightful Select was unable to confirm whether or not that’s true.
In addition, Fightful Select reports that Cargill’s reasoning for looking to WWE is unclear, but it does not appear to be financially motivated. Cargill does have a team of representatives to help her with contract deals.
Cargill potentially making the move to WWE was reportedly a topic of conversation backstage at the latest edition of Monday Night Raw.
