Current WWE Champion Wants Dream Match With Austin Theory
Austin Theory has received a new challenge from a WWE star.
The 28-year-old has been out of action since suffering an injury in July 2025. Since then, his tag team partner at the time, Grayson Waller, has aligned himself with The New Day, even calling Theory a “dead weight.”
In the meantime, a new contender has emerged for Theory, as Jackson Drake recently brought him up during an interview.
Drake is known to WWE fans as the current EVOLVE Champion. Since winning the gold in April, Drake has defended it multiple times to remain at the top.
The 22-year-old Vanity Project stablemate appeared for an interview on the Battleground podcast, where he named Austin Theory as his dream opponent.
There’s a picture on my Instagram from 2017 or something, I just started wrestling training and Austin Theory came to North Carolina for a match. He had like three belts at the time, one of them was the EVOLVE Championship. I’m not gonna lie to you, he was flexing it. Me and [Je’Von Evans] were there, he was like, ‘You guys see this belt, Seth Rollins has held this belt, this guy had held that belt, that guy has held this belt.’ I’d go as far to say that it’s a dream match, Jackson Drake vs. Austin Theory. Austin Theory Still In Contention For WWE Survivor Series
WWE had major plans for a returning Austin Theory by inducting him into The Vision as a permanent member.
However, the creative team was forced to scrap the idea after Seth Rollins suffered a legitimate injury at Crown Jewel, leading to him being stripped of the World Heavyweight Championship.
Nevertheless, WWE has not forgotten about him and plans to introduce Theory around Survivor Series, which will take place on November 29.
Sources are also reporting that Logan Paul will be the one to bring him into The Vision.
