Controversial Ric Flair Line Cut From AEW TV

Ric Flair AEW

Ric Flair was in the headlines for all the wrong reasons following a polarising line on Rampage but the offending comment did not make air on the show.

Ric Flair appeared with Sting on both Dynamite and Rampage in Minneapolis but it is his apparent promo on Rampage that has caught the attention of many online. Flair is quoted as saying “18-28 no boyfriends, no husbands, meet me at my hotel room.”

While this – and variations of it – have long been part of Flair’s on-screen repertoire, there has been an outpouring of anger and disgust on social media due to the allegations that have been made against Flair – it should be noted that Ric Flair has always strenuously denied these – and the fact that Flair at 74 years old is asking 18-year-old women back to his hotel room. However, some have defended the line as being one Flair has trotted out before and that he is simply playing up to his character.

Ric Flair Line Cut From AEW Rampage

Ric Flair has since said he’ll walk away from AEW if he is causing upset and it seems those within the company noted the backlash against Flair as the offending line was cut from airing on Rampage.

The Nature Boy had plenty of support from several wrestling legends as a result of the controversy but with the line being cut, it would suggest that Flair might be more careful with his comments in the future.
