Controversial AEW Star Ready To Return
One of AEW’s more divisive stars is ready to return to the ring.
Thunder Rosa hasn’t wrestled since August 10th, 2022 in a tag team match that was later aired on AEW Dark: Elevation. At the time, Rosa was the AEW Women’s Champion and was scheduled to face Toni Storm at All Out with the gold on the line.
However, a tearful Rosa announced she couldn’t compete and an Interim Title was created, with the star not actually relinquishing the gold until November.
Since stepping away from the ring, Rosa has been forced to deny that she was faking her injury and the fact she wasn’t stripped of the title earlier created friction backstage. By this point, it was also something of an open secret that Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker couldn’t stand each other. It was also believed that Rosa had heat with Jamie Hayter.
Speaking in a new interview with News 4 San Antonio, Rosa stated that she’s now ready to get back in the ring and is just waiting on the call.
“I am ready. Whenever (I get) that call and, you know, my boss says ‘It’s time for you to return.’
I am super excited and I can not wait to show to the world and all you fans that have been supporting all this time that I am ready and I have a lot more to give.”
News 4 noted that Rosa will be wrestling on the December 23rd episode of Collision, although this hasn’t been announced by AEW. However, she is included in advertising for the show.
Rosa’s long-time rival Britt Baker has also been absent from the ring in recent months, having not wrestled since September. The star recently took aim at AEW on social media for her lack of promo time in 2023.
Thunder Rosa Attempted To Smooth Out AEW Issues
Thunder Rosa has since revealed she’s apologised to the locker room and is confident any issues are in the past. With regard to not dropping the Women’s Title when she first stepped away from the ring, the star said the decision was made by Tony Khan and she was simply doing what she was told.
