Cody Rhodes Confirmed For WWE Elimination Chamber
Cody Rhodes’ journey to WrestleMania will feature a stop at Elimination Chamber.
Fresh off the back of his second consecutive Royal Rumble win, Cody Rhodes has confirmed he’ll be at Elimination Chamber when the Premium Live Event heads to Perth, Australia on February 24th.
It has long been believed that Rhodes will face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania to finally “finish the story” and become WWE World Champion — an honour that famously eluded his father. In fact, when Rhodes was celebrating his win at the Royal Rumble, he appeared to signal that he’d be going on to face Reigns at WrestleMania for a second time.
However, appearing on Raw two nights later, Seth Rollins laid down a challenge of his own, urging the American Nightmare to think about it. Rollins had been due to take on CM Punk at WrestleMania but the match was scrapped following an injury to Punk.
Although Rhodes will be in attendance, Roman Reigns is set to miss Elimination Chamber.
Cody Rhodes To Appear On SmackDown
Following Seth Rollins’ somewhat unexpected sales pitch on Raw, Cody Rhodes is heading to SmackDown to address his past with the Tribal Chief. Reigns will also be on the show.
Immediately after his Rumble win, Rhodes signaled to Reigns that he was coming for his title, but the challenge from Rollins has muddied the waters somewhat, especially in light of continued speculation around The Rock.
