Cody Rhodes Namedrops Former WWE Star On Raw

Nobody could blame Cody Rhodes for wanting to focus on the future after a rough week that saw him lose in the WrestleMania main event to Roman Reigns before he was decimated by Brock Lesnar.

Rhodes had appeared on the Raw after WrestleMania to lay down a challenge for a rematch to Reigns but when that was rejected, he told The Tribal Chief he wanted a tag team match against the champion and Solo Sikoa. Paul Heyman laid down some stipulations for who Rhodes’ partner could be but Brock Lesnar wasn’t the least bit bothered as he quickly came to The American Nightmare’s side.

When the time came for the match in the main event, however, Brock Lesnar revealed his true intentions as he spent ten minutes decimating Rhodes while The Bloodline quietly slipped away.

On Raw in Seattle – a show besieged by travel chaos – Cody Rhodes wanted to discuss his future and noted that his friend Matt had told him wins and losses don’t matter at this stage in Rhodes’ career but Rhodes noted that those who say they don’t have already finished their story.

Former WWE star Matt Cardona – who was known in the company as Zack Ryder – took to social media to indicate that he was the Matt in question that Rhodes mentioned as he simply wrote “Hi @CodyRhodes”

Cody Rhodes then had a message for Brock Lesnar as he challenged him to a one-on-one match at Backlash in Puerto Rico on May 6th.
