Cody Rhodes Reacts To Jade Cargill Signing With WWE
Cody Rhodes wants Jade Cargill to “rise to the challenge and occasion” now that the former Nightmare Factory trainee has signed with WWE.
Triple H caused a social media sensation when he shared the news that former AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill would be joining the WWE roster.
Cargill dominated the Women’s division during her time in AEW, with her 508-day TBS reign the longest of any AEW Championship reign in the company’s history.
Speaking after securing his first Championship since returning to WWE, Cody Rhodes was asked his thoughts on Cargill joining him in WWE after the former basketball player learned her craft in Rhodes’ own training facility, the Nightmare Factory.
One-half of the newly crowned Undisputed Tag-Team Champions, Cody Rhodes appeared at the Fastlane press conference and told reporters he was “very proud” of Cargill.
“Full disclosure. Uce and I may have had a libation or two on the bus. That said, I was very excited for her to make this jump and very proud. Jade came from the Nightmare Factory, but I didn’t train her.
I’m going to tell people in the future when I write my book, maybe I did. QT Marshall set her up and trained her and helped her to get the spot where she took this big leap,”
“I’m just very proud. Now, the work begins. There is a mindset here at WWE that did not exist, maybe it did and I didn’t notice it, but didn’t exist when I was here the first time and it is the most team-minded group that I’ve ever seen as far as the show comes together.
This is an individual business, it’s tricky, it’s political, it’s show business. That team mindset, what we have, has proved to be so fruitful. Now, I just hope she can rise to the challenge and occasion. I think, for sure, she’ll be able to.
“It’s not going to be my job to be the liaison to my former peers or whomever. I would hope everyone does what’s right for them. It’s what’s right for you,”
Jade Cargill Told To “Change The Game” By Triple H
On the 26th of September, Triple H shared a social media post that announced Jade Cargill had officially signed with WWE.
As part of his post, the WWE COO made it clear that Cargill was secured due to her athletic ability and challenged her to “change the game”.
The message quickly gained millions of views and WWE fans were excited going into Fastlane over the possibility Cargill could make her debut.
During the Fastlane: Kick-Off show, Jade Cargill was seen arriving and being welcomed by Triple H. Whilst it is unclear when the former TBS Champion will set foot inside a WWE ring, the build to her being a new main eventer in the Women’s division has been made very clear.
