Cody Rhodes – “I Have To Go Out And Deliver” At WrestleMania 39

Cody Rhodes is ready to deliver a match that fans will “really just love and cherish” in the main event of WrestleMania 39.

The American Nightmare has earned the opportunity to compete with Roman Reigns, after winning the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble, and is fully focused on ensuring the matchup does not disappoint.

Tensions have increased between the former AEW Champion and The Tribal Chief following a heated promo on March 3rd edition of Smackdown.

Rhodes has twice come to the aid of Sami Zayn, after The Bloodline attacked the former Honorary Uce at last week’s Raw and Smackdown.

The number one contender has been speaking with Kevin Kellam for Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge, and on the show discussed the reaction after the WrestleMania 39 poster was released and the responsibly he feels about delivering for WWE fans.

“I will say that it’s been very — the graphic, the poster came out WrestleMania the other day, and the amount of text I got from people in the industry that I worked with a ton of times, but also the people I worked with just maybe one time, the amount of love that was given was really — obviously, I’m a sentimental guy, is very touching, but also really put a level of responsibility on me.”

“It’s great to hear someone say, ‘He’s the right guy to face the guy,’ but, for me personally, I have to go out and execute. I have to go out and deliver. It can’t just be a pipe dream. It can’t just be hope. It has to be hope and execution, and that’s where I’m at.”

“So I’ve tried not to get too high on the love that I’m getting from my peers in the business or get too down on any criticism that I might be getting as well just because none of it matters unless you go out there and execute and give them something to really just love and cherish. WrestleMania being the biggest thing we do, that’s what I aim to do.”

Cody Rhodes has been keeping watch on former stomping ground AEW whilst preparing for the biggest match of his career to date.

Rhodes returned to WWE during last year’s WrestleMania with a victory over Seth Rollins. The grandson of a plumber has made his intentions clear since that match, that the goal was to become WWE Universal or WWE Champion, not just for himself, but the Rhodes family name.

In less than a month, Rhodes has the opportunity to secure both Titles, but he faces, in Reigns, an opponent who has been Champion for over 900 days in one of the most hotly anticipated WresteMania main events in recent history.
