CM Punk was reminded of just how the WWE machine works when he had time cut from his promo on his return to Monday Night Raw.
CM Punk shocked the world when he returned to WWE at Survivor Series for the first time in almost ten years. The return comes less than three months after Punk was fired by AEW for his part in a backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In.
The wrestling world was waiting with bated breath for Monday Night Raw to find out just what CM Punk would say with a live mic in his hand. However, the most noteworthy thing Punk said was that he was “home” in WWE and had a slight allusion to Seth Rollins’ less-than-thrilled reaction to his comeback.
Why Did CM Punk Have His Time Cut?
Fightful Select reported that Punk’s promo had to have time cut from it due to the main event match of Randy Orton taking on Dominik Mysterio going longer than planned. A backstage source is said to have noted that CM Punk’s reaction to the time constraint appeared to be fine.
It seems the star will have to be fine with how things are generally in the company as CM Punk is believed to have a behaviour clause in his WWE contract which is designed to prevent the same issues that plagued his time in the company before he walked out in 2014.
