CM Punk’s WWE Contract Contains Interesting Clause

WWE is reportedly taking no chances with CM Punk.

At Survivor Series CM Punk shocked the world by walking out on WWE television for the first time in almost a decade. The star was a free agent after being fired by AEW in September, a move that brought to an end a controversy-hit spell with the promotion.

Punk famously walked out on WWE back in 2014 after becoming frustrated with his role within the company along with a whole host of other issues, some of which ended with legal action being taken.

Despite this, Punk is back and reportedly on his best behaviour.

A new report from Fightful Select has given an update on the reception to Punk’s return to Raw on November 27th where he addressed “coming home.”

The report noted that Punk was in good spirits and seemed happy to be involved, taking pictures for WWE as well as with talent and a few fans after the show while on his best behaviour. Interestingly, there seems to be a very good reason for that.

Fightful adds that some in WWE were told by higher-ups that Punk has a “good behaviour clause” associated with his contract, although they haven’t confirmed this themselves.

The report reiterates that Punk wasn’t taking a victory lap during his promo and remains determined to move past his previous issues.

The end result is that at least for now, everything’s “so far, so good” with regard to Punk in WWE.

CM Punk Listed As A Free Agent

It’s also been reported that CM Punk has been given free-agent status, and can appear on both SmackDown and Raw.

Punk is reportedly heading for a feud with Seth Rollins, while he’s also been linked with a storyline opposite Roman Reigns, although it’s unclear when this will begin.
