CM Punk’s Role At NXT’s CW Premiere Revealed
CM Punk has now revealed exactly what he’ll be doing when he appears on NXT’s premiere episode on the CW Network.
WWE NXT will move to its new home on October 1st and the company is loading up that show as a result. With that show taking place in Chicago, Illinois, there was only one major star that could appear – CM Punk.
Punk was advertised for that show but a surprise was thrown up when it emerged that Punk would also be on the 17th of September edition of NXT to reveal his role in his hometown.
It looked like Punk might have some role in the NXT Women’s Title match between Roxanne Perez and Giulia as he came between the two women ahead of their championship bout. Despite Punk’s affection towards Perez, she told him that she’d make Chicago her town when she defeats Giulia.
CM Punk Taking On Referee Role
However, later in the evening, a contract signing between Ethan Page and Trick Williams for their NXT Championship match took place with NBA star Tyrese Haliburton presiding over the formalities. As the ink was drying, CM Punk emerged once again to reveal that he’d be the special guest referee for the bout.

This will be Page’s second title defence in a row with a special guest referee as Trick Williams was the man in the middle when Page defeated Joe Hendry at No Mercy.
