CM Punk Reveals Whether He’d Be At 19/9 WWE SmackDown
CM Punk has been a regular on WWE RAW since its Netflix debut.
More recently, he appeared on SmackDown during the September 5 taping in Chicago, which also marked the return of his wife, AJ Lee, to the promotion after over ten years.
Both Punk and Lee are involved in a feud with Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, who are part of the red brand.
At Wrestlepalooza on September 20, both couples will feature in a mixed tag team match, which will also be AJ Lee’s first official match since her return.
During a recent appearance on Pardon My Take, CM Punk revealed whether he will be on the September 19 episode of SmackDown.
Wrestlepalooza is Saturday. Yeah. Um, I will be in Indianapolis on Friday. You know, I’ll be around at SmackDown. I won’t be on screen, but I do things backstage. I help out. [H/T: Ringside News]
While Punk won’t be on TV, Brock Lesnar has been advertised for an appearance before his match against John Cena at the PLE.
SmackDown in Toledo, Ohio, takes place on the eve of Wrestlepalooza, which will be WWE’s first premium live event on ESPN in the United States.
Is TKO Tolerating CM Punk?
A released WWE star recently spoke harshly about CM Punk, claiming TKO only tolerates him because he generates them revenue.
While speaking on Inside the Ring, Matt Riddle also claimed that Punk was a ‘b*tch to work with.’
If he didn’t generate the amount of money and attention that he does, he wouldn’t be there. And kudos to him. Kudos to him. He got the guy packs an arena. He sells tickets. He sells merchandise. And when you’re looking at WWE, especially with TKO, I don’t think they care about anything else. They go, “What do you want to get paid? You bring on this much value. Okay, good.”
Riddle is currently signed to Major League Wrestling, and allegedly was a no-show during a charity event in the UK.
