Breaking News: AJ Lee Finally Returns To WWE!

AJ Lee has made her long-awaited WWE comeback after a decade.

The 38-year-old initially joined the Stamford-based company in 2009. She had a successful seven-year run, during which she held the Divas Championship three times, before leaving and retiring in 2015.

For a decade after her departure, The Black Widow insisted she was not interested in returning to the squared circle, even after her husband, CM Punk, made a shocking comeback to WWE in 2023. Nevertheless, things have finally changed.

Since coming back to WWE two years ago, CM Punk has been involved in an on-and-off feud with Seth Rollins. Last month, The Visionary shockingly cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on The Second City Saint after the latter won the World Heavyweight Championship from Gunther.

At Clash in Paris, Rollins again stood tall over Punk in a Fatal 4-Way World Heavyweight Championship match after his wife, Becky Lynch, interfered to deliver a low blow to The Best in the World before he finished her husband with a GTS. That allowed the leader of The Vision to stomp his rival on a steel chair for the victory.

Last Monday on RAW, Lynch had a heated confrontation with Punk, which saw The Man slap the former World Heavyweight Champion several times. He promised to make her husband regret cashing in on him and her regret laying her hands on him.

The Second City Saint delivered on his promise tonight on SmackDown as he brought back his wife AJ Lee after a decade of absence to confront Lynch.

AJ Lee Makes Her Comeback On WWE SmackDown In Chicago

The segment started with Seth Rollins making a surprise appearance among the crowd to say that tonight we would all witness history as the legend of CM Punk dies in his hometown. He then introduced his wife, the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Becky Lynch, “to do the honors.”

As soon as Lynch entered the ring, she was met by AJ Lee chants. She called out the crowd for chanting another person’s name while she stood in the ring, claiming she was the greatest female wrestler of all time. The Chicago crowd, however, continued to boo her heavily as she insulted their city and heroes, including CM Punk.

The Second City Saint then interrupted The Man. He made his way to the ring under massive cheers from his hometown crowd. Punk told Lynch it wasn’t about her but about her “coward of a husband” hiding in a sky box and hiding behind his wife. He added that he was giving her a chance because it had nothing to do with her. Nevertheless, Lynch asked him how his face was feeling. When she told the crowd to stop chanting AJ Lee, Punk told her to shut up and let them chant his wife’s name.

He also teased calling in a favor from several names, including Bayley or Rhea Ripley. Lynch then slapped him again and called him an embarrassment to the city of Chicago as he left the ring. He said this was the situation he wanted to avoid because everybody knew he wouldn’t put his hands on a lady, but, thankfully, he had somebody who would then AJ Lee’s music hit.

Lee made her iconic entrance to the ring under Lynch’s shocked eyes. The Black Widow then jumped on Lynch and went crazy on The Man. She then slapped her, sending her out of the ring. Punk got into the ring and hugged his wife as Rollins and Lynch retreated.
