CM Punk A Positive Light In The Locker Room Claims WWE Star
CM Punk might be the most polarising star in wrestling history but for one young WWE star, Punk has been nothing but a joy.
CM Punk shocked the world when he returned to WWE at Survivor Series 2023 after almost a decade away from the company. Punk’s time in WWE came to an acrimonious end in 2014 when he walked out of the company after growing increasingly upset at his treatment.
Punk returned to the world of wrestling in 2021 as part of AEW but his time in Tony Khan’s promotion proved to be ill-fated. CM Punk famously fought The Elite backstage after All Out in 2022 and the writing was very much on the wall from then.
Punk returned to AEW TV in June 2023 but after another backstage altercation, this time with Jack Perry at All In 2023, CM Punk was fired by the company.
CM Punk A Mentor To Those In NXT
Many have wondered how Punk is being received backstage now he’s back in WWE but for NXT Champion Trick Williams, Punk has been nothing but a positive. Speaking to Adrian Hernandez, Williams gave his thoughts on Punk and said the former WWE Champion is a mentor to him:
Mentor is a perfect way to put it, man. He’s been a blessing for all of us who would take the time to actually go talk to him and reach out to him. He’s helped me with a few things that I feel like, if the crowd knew about it, they would be very grateful that he did. I’ll just leave it there. Shoutout CM Punk. He’s been a positive light for all of us here in NXT.
Trick Williams will put his NXT Championship on the line against former AEW star Ethan Page at Battleground after Page made his shock WWE debut by attacking Williams.
