Several Sources Say Claims Of CM Punk’s Dog Being Injured A “Total Fabrication”

Despite the contrary initially being reported, it’s believed that CM Punk’s dog Larry wasn’t injured during the infamous AEW All Out backstage scuffle.

The events of the AEW All Out media scrum are still being felt within the Tony Khan-helmed organisation. CM Punk, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks remain absent from company programming, though it’s expected The Elite are returning imminently. CM Punk, on the other hand, may find himself unemployed by the year’s end.

Punk’s involvement in the situation has seen differing reports emerging, some noting that it was The Elite targeting him in a violent manner, and others which suggest it was Punk who was on the aggressive side. Until this week, the only mention of Larry – the beloved dog of the two-time AEW World Champion – was that he had been removed from the situation with care.

Dave Meltzer has discussed Larry’s involvement in the scuffle, or rather lack thereof, in a new post on the Wrestling Observer Board. This followed what he had stated on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio transmission – Larry being hurt in the matter may not be as true as Punk is making out:

“Anyway, multiple eyewitnesses said that dog story was a total fabrication. If it was true, the end of the investigation would have been that Punk would be the one staying.”

Dave Meltzer’s latest report from WOR stated as such, questioning why only now was Larry supposedly being hurt being brought up.

While it’s believed CM Punk won’t be returning to AEW, it appears The Elite will be. Reports stated that they were backstage for the October 26 AEW Dynamite broadcast, which saw them featured in a video package, hinting at their comeback.
