CM Punk Delivers Strong Message To His Critics

CM Punk

CM Punk has revealed that he is motivated by the negativity of his critics.

‘The Voice Of The Voiceless’ has become somewhat less of a controversial figure in recent months having settled well back into life at WWE since his surprise return at Survivor Series 2023.

Punk’s return came less than three months after he was sensationally let go by Tony Khan’s AEW following a backstage altercation with Jack Perry at AEW All In, held at London’s Wembley Stadium on 27th August 2023.

Having been a controversial character throughout a career that has spanned over 25 years, Punk has often been a divisive character with fans and fellow Superstars alike, known for being willing to speak his mind regardless of the consequences.

Speaking during a candid sit down interview with legendary WWE announcer Michael Cole ahead of SummerSlam, CM Punk insisted that nowadays he drew motivation from those who choose to be critical of his actions:

“What’s more motivating than when someone says you cannot? I think that’s been the basis of my entire life, let alone my entire career.

That’s what has made me popular—being different, not conforming, and just never taking no for an answer.”

The former WWE Champion would go on to explain that he chooses to take his advice from legends of the industry rather than his critics, who he labelled as ‘jealous’:

“I’ve never been one to listen to most of the critics. There’s people who have paved the way for me to be here, and I will always lend an ear. And then there’s people who have come after me, who have always just seemingly been jealous of me.

You can criticize me all you want. Chances are you’re wrong and I’m right.”

CM Punk Defeated At SummerSlam

CM Punk returned from injury at SummerSlam on 3rd August, battling Drew McIntyre in his first televised singles bout for the company in a decade.

It was McIntyre, however, who came out on top of a captivating contest after Punk had been distracted by a physical confrontation with Special Guest Referee, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, allowing ‘The Scottish Warrior’ to score a pinfall victory.
