CM Punk Appearance Announced For MMA Event

CM Punk WWE Return: The Door Is Not Completely Closed

CM Punk may not be signed to any pro wrestling company, but he is making public appearances.

It has been about two months since CM Punk’s last pro wrestling match at the AEW All In London event at Wembley Stadium. Prior to his match with Samoa Joe that opened the PPV portion of the show, Punk got into a skirmish with “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry backstage.

There was also some incident with AEW Owner, CEO & GM Tony Khan, which led Tony to go on national TV to say that his “life was in danger” due to CM Punk. One week after the All In incident, AEW decided to fire CM Punk with cause.

Since then, there have been a lot of rumors about what’s next for CM Punk. While some people may want the former WWE, AEW & ROH World Champion to return to WWE for the first time in nearly 10 years (Punk walked away from WWE in January 2014), the latest reports on that are that “WWE turned him down” even though Punk is open to it.

A promotion like IMPACT Wrestling, which is going by the TNA name again in January 2024, could interest Punk especially since he was visiting them last week. They also employ one of Punk’s best friends, Ace Steel, who is working backstage in the promotion. TNA can’t afford to pay Punk what AEW did or what WWE could, but if he is open to it, they are a viable possibility for his next wrestling home.

CM Punk making an appearance at MMA event in Milwaukee

It is well-known that CM Punk is a huge MMA fan who also fought twice in the UFC ring and lost. Punk also works for the Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) as an announcer due to his ability to talk and his passion for the sport.

One of Punk’s good friends in the MMA world is Anthony Pettis, who is running an event called APFC Milwaukee Fight Night 3 on Sunday, November 19th in Milwaukee. Pettis posted about it on Instagram while also mentioning an appearance from CM Punk and UFC Legend Nate Diaz.

“We’re closing the year with a BANG 💥 #APFC9 is absolutely loaded, and we’re bringing the stars out to Milwaukee for our final event of 2023.

“Join us November 19th at the Baird center for a night of incredible fights, and the chance to meet myself, Nate Diaz and CM Punk. 🔥

“With special appearances from Criss Angel and Rampage Jackson, two incredible title fights, and even Frank Mir on the broadcast booth, #APFC9 is going to be INSANE.”

As for the weekend after, WWE is heading to CM Punk’s hometown of Chicago for Survivor Series on November 25th. Punk recently joked about not being there because the event is sold out, which is true.
