Chris Jericho Reacts To CM Punk Going To WWE

Chris Jericho has provided some insight into the backstage reaction to CM Punk returning to WWE.

In a move that shocked the wrestling world, CM Punk made his return to WWE at Survivor Series, almost 10 years after he walked out on the company. The comeback came only months after Punk was fired from AEW with cause due to a backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In at Wembley Stadium in London.

During a recent interview with WFAA, Chris Jericho has discussed his and the AEW locker room’s reaction to the news that Punk was once again in WWE. According to The Ocho, it has been “business as usual.”

“Business as usual, man. It happens. Same reason I’m sure there wasn’t a big reaction when Adam Copeland came to AEW, or even Will Ospreay signed with AEW, or when Danielson and Moxley and Adam Cole came to AEW.”

Jericho believes that it’s good for wrestling that big stars now have more options of where to sign as it only strengthens the business.

“It’s good for the business that guys have the ability to go between companies. It’s great for the fans, and it’s great for the talent overall. It just makes the business stronger, and that’s the most important thing.”

Chris Jericho Sees Vince McMahon’s Influence In CM Punk’s WWE Return

Chris Jericho has spoken about CM Punk’s WWE comeback before, and in a previous interview said he wasn’t surprised it happened. Going one step further, he claimed there was likely some influence from Vince McMahon’s attitude to controversial stars, which was to bring them back if they can make the company money.
