Major Celebrity Training With WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T
A big name is working with WWE legend Booker T.
Elimination Chamber will forever be remembered for the John Cena heel turn that shocked the world, but some fans were more worried about the condition of Cody Rhodes.
As Cena delivered his beatdown on the World Champion, Travis Scott, who had come to the ring with The Rock, also got involved and landed an extremely stiff-looking punch while Rhodes was lying on the mat.
Following the event, it was reported that Cody Rhodes suffered an injury in the attack. It’s believed that he was given a black eye and a “busted ear drum,” likely from the shot from Scott.
A further report claimed Travis Scott had “all kinds of heat” with WWE as a result, despite suggestions he’d been training as a wrestler.
Travis Scott Working With Booker T
During a new interview with Bootleg Kev, AEW star Swerve Strickland recalled spending time with Scott during a charity event where he confirmed he was training as a wrestler with Booker T. Strickland also gave his take on Scott’s slap to Rhodes, commenting that he just got excited in the heat of the moment.
“That’s a very excited artist who finally got to do his dream. You’re in there with the two biggest icons that we have left. The two biggest icons that have ever done it. Of course you’re excited, and you’re with the world champion, so this is the guy who (represents) this era moving forward. That’s a lot of excitement and pressure.
That’s what happens when you get excited with someone who is not in our industry. It’s an exciting moment. It’s a crossover thing and he doesn’t know. I think they wanted it so it could feel natural.
Sometimes you want the natural reaction from other people outside of wrestling. You want them to be natural, flow, and feel. Then, it’ll feel real. Then that stuff happens and it’s, ‘Ah, too far. Too much.’
I was on the golf course with Travis not that long ago. He didn’t know that was coming, but he was telling me, ‘I’m excited. I’m training with Booker T. This is going to be wild.’ He wanted to talk more about wrestling than music. He was excited. I was like, ‘Make sure you take care of yourself and others.'”
At AEW Revolution, Swerve Strickland became the number one contender for the World Championship with a win over Ricochet. The show later went off the air with Strickland standing tall over current champion Jon Moxley.
