Bryan Danielson Confronts MJF After AEW Title Match On Dynamite

After retaining his AEW World Championship against Ricky Starks in the main event of Dynamite, MJF was confronted by Bryan Danielson!

After winning both the AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament and the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal, Ricky Starks earned himself the opportunity to face Maxwell Jacob Friedman for not only his newly-won AEW Title, but also the Dynamite Diamond Ring.

Fans didn’t have to wait long for the winner take all match to take place as the two went head to head on the December 14th Winter is Coming episode of AEW Dynamite. The bout was a hard-hitting affair, and near the end, MJF put referee Paul Turner in between himself and Starks. As the referee gained his bearings, the champion took the opportunity to hit Starks with a low blow, allowing Friedman to retain his title in signature slimy fashion.

As Starks recovered in the ring, MJF gloated and made his way up the ramp with his title over his shoulder. However, his victory celebration was cut short when the theme music of Bryan Danielson rang out throughout the Garland, TX arena, and the American Dragon himself confronted the champion. MJF turned tail, grasping his title and running away through the crowd as Danielson got in the ring to point at the champion, clearly sending a message that tension between the two is far from over.

There’s no doubt that Danielson is still upset at the way Friedman captured the AEW Word Championship from Jon Moxley at AEW Full Gear, using brass knuckles provided by William Regal to secure the win. Regal has since departed All Elite Wrestling, but bad feelings remain in the Blackpool Combat Club.
