Bobby Lashley Teases The Hurt Business Returning To WWE
Bobby Lashley has dropped another hint on social media that The Hurt Business may be returning to WWE in the very near future.
In the “Pandemic Era” WWE when shows were taking place in the ThunderDome environment for most of 2020 and into mid-2021, The Hurt Business was a very successful group on Raw.
Bobby Lashley, the leader of the group, had reigns as the US Champion and WWE Champion while The Hurt Business was together. They also had Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander, who were the Raw Tag Team Champions.
There was also Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP), who was the mastermind of the group that served as a manager/mentor that sometimes wrestled as well.
Earlier this year, MVP spoke about how he was “trying to put The Hurt Business back together” and even appeared at ringside during some Benjamin/Alexander matches. MVP and Lashley also had some backstage meetings on-camera as well.
For many months now, there was no sign of The Hurt Business reunion. Bobby Lashley was kept off the WrestleMania 39 card after his match with Bray Wyatt never materialized. Since being drafted to Smackdown over two months ago, Lashley was mostly forgotten about until last night’s Smackdown.
As we have covered previously, Bobby Lashley was shown arriving in a limo backstage at Smackdown where he was greeted by The Street Profits – Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins. They were greeted by Lashley and went into the limo to have a conversation.
What’s interesting about Lashley’s return to television is that three days ago, he posted a video on Instagram where he was at the gym with The Hurt Business WWE theme song playing over the video.
Is it just a coincidence that he would play a video with The Hurt Business song right before his television return that included a meeting with The Street Profits? We certainly could be seeing a new version of The Hurt Business in WWE with The Street Profits and perhaps others involved.
